IMA Motorsport is great
I have been a customer of IMA since '92. They have taken very good care of my 951 and 968. They are honest and reliable and stand behind they're work with a 12 month/12000 miles guarantee. I won't take my Porsche to anyone else.
I've used IMA several times since they've opened their Chantilly location. Ivan and crew are great to work with. They have 5 or 6 lifts, a dyno, a machine shop and all the tools required to work on any Porsche car.
They do a ton of work for people who track and race their cars as well as support the loca PCA Region.
IMA is a Porsche-only shop. These guys really know Porsches. They even have their own custom built Porsche prototype at the shop.
Ivan is the owner and is friendly and fair. He race Porsche (911 and 944) and runs education events for the local Porsche Club. To give you an idea--this guy drives a GT3 to work on nice days.
You know your car is being worked on by seasoned Porsche mechanics not some random apprentice at the dealer when you bring your car to IMA.

Had a great experience with IMA. Ivan was really thorough and made me feel like a long time customer even though this was my first visit. Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone looking for Porsche or other service.
Ivan was very helpful on short notice. I had an unusual problem with a pinhole leak in an aluminum pipe and it was repaired quickly and professionally.
If you bring your Porsche to any other establishment in the DC area for service, you're an idiot. IMA will do it cheaper, better, friendlier, and more completely than the dealer or anyone else.
Although IMA does specialize in Porsches, they also repair BMWs, Audis VWs and nowadays they even service Corvettes. In general, this is a top of the line shop and it's a good place to bring any car they're willing to work on.
As an added bonus for 944 owners (such as myself), Ivan is the 944 tech advisor for the Founder's Region Porsche Club. He really knows this car, and as far as Porsches still on the road in a fair number go, it's about the hardest one to find a competent mechanic for. It's also the kind of car you really need to stay ahead of the curve with if you want to keep it running nicely. He races 944s and is generally just super passionate about them, and it shows in the quality work his shop does on the model.
I take my 944 all the way down to Chantilly from Maryland to have IMA work on it. If you've got a car that needs special attention, you should do the same.
